Thinking of rebuilding a hit 2009 A6 3.0T
An insurance auction I have access to has a '09 A6 3.0T auto up for sale cheap. I'm thinking of picking it up and having it fixed up. Is this a crazy idea?
It was tweaked in the passenger front, but still starts and drives. Idles around 1200rpm, and CEL is on, but otherwise everything from front wheel arch back is fine. What caveats do you all have for me?
I know the 2.7T's had a lot of piping under the front fenders and bumpers, what about the 3.0T's? Am I potentially getting into a can of worms with this? It may go for less than 20K, and at that price it's potentially attractive. I don't plan on reselling, so the salvage title isn't sooo much of an issue.
Thoughts?

Normally don't they total the car if potential cost to fix the vehicle is more then the value? If the hit is so minor, why wouldn't they have it fixed?
Also, I think the 3.0T would be a 2010 model year.
