My context is where we use these cars the vast majority of the time: 1 person in the vehicle, no load in the trunk or rear seating area.
Granted, if you are operating a taxi service with your car, then the strategy of 35F/39F is dead on![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Look at the label from the new European car, it has little diagrams of bodies and suitcases

My '06 Avant has 36,000 miles on the original tires. Pressure has been kept at 35F, 39R and the tires are rotated front to back every 7,500 miles. At the 5 yr service in February the SA asked if the tires had been replaced. The wear is hardly noticeable. Although in my 40 years of driving cars manuals have always advised more pressure in the front that the rear I went with the Audi recommendation and am very pleased with the results.

only way to get right pressure is to measure tire core temp.. ![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
do that with the recommended audi pressure and you see it's wrong...of course if you don't care about tyre wear etc..go for the recomended!..

Manhattan has already taken one tire from me, and the roads in jersey are no better. we should call this pothole tri-state area. thats why i am also reluctant to lower the psi, afraid i may loose a rim or two
