Newbie.
Just purchased a CPO 2005 Audi A6 4.2 with ~45000 miles - love the car!!! The wife and I had an 2001 Audi Allroad and I used to have an Audi 90. This new Audi is far superior (as expected) to both. I have always loved Audis, and I was ready to make a change once my lease was finished up on an inferior Japanese car.

During my search process, I started with Mercedes - I drove the CLK and the E350, as well as a used E500 - didn't care for either one. I moved on to BMW and drove a 2005 545i and a 2006 550i, as well as a 2008 550i. I liked the 2008 550i a great deal, but I didn't care for the payment! I then moved on to the Audi dealership and checked out a 2005 A8 and an Oyster Gray w/Amaretto interior, fully-loaded A6 4.2 and was sold. The ride was smooth, yet still sporty. The interior and exterior were far superior to the BMW subjects. I loved the comfort level of the A8 seats and interior, but the A6 is just more my style.

I have had the car for a couple of weeks and the dealership has been great in making sure the car is perfect. They changed our the MMI **** (the black was peeling) and replaced a part in the sunroof (it opened too slowly and hesitated). Other than that, the car is fantastic. Also, it came with Sirius and when I purchased the car but they agreed to switch it out to XM for me - I am partial to XM after having it for the last three years. They took care of that as well.

I love being an Audi owner again and hope everyone gets a chance to have as great an experience as I have had.

Default Welcome to the 2005 4.2 club. Check the Ebahn site for TSBs and make sure they were done. Car is

much better after all the TSBs have been performed. I have had the coil packs, fuel filter, transmission software and fluid, and MMI software all upgraded under free TSBs.

Thanks! I am working on getting the MMI updated right now as I have noticed the surround mode not holding in the Bose setup. Taking it in Thursday.

Realistically, I knew I couldn't afford that new 550i, but it sure was nice to drive. Regardless, I am just as happy if not happier with the A6 4.2. Righteous car!

I will try to get pictures up soon.
