Default Transmission delay? Normal for Audi?

So another possible issue. I never own an Audi before and my BMW didn't do this. For instance, when I reverse then switch to "D" to go forward, there is a slight (2-3 sec.) delay before I start rolling forward. Is it normal for 2008 A6? Also today I stopped on the traffic light and when I started to pul forward the car jerked a little? Transmission issue or it's normal for Audi? Thanks in advance.

My S6 also has the same delay from Reverse to Drive. Broached the subject with the dealership and was told it was normal behaviour.

My S6 also has the delay, however my previous 2008 A6 (3.2) did not have any delay when engaging Drive gear.
Dealership also said it's normal for the S6, though i still have my doubts.
Only way to know is to drive another one, i suppose.

I also see this with my '08 A6. Rolling forward from a stop feels somewhat strange (my first Audi also) because the trans shifts almost immedieately into second, then quickly into third unless you use Sport mode or give it more gas.

Thanks everyone for quick response.
@PJRed2008, correct, S-Mode works just fine.

I have an 2002 A4 B6 CVT that had recently the delay problem
This is a transmission problem and Audi doesn't give a clear explanation on what causes the problem and claims that it is "normal"
Sorry Audi this is not normal, this is a defect in the transmission because this gear box need fluid and filter replacemt to prevent electrical surge to the TCU and damage to the bands caused by the Dirty ATF
The most funny thing is Audi claims that the ATF is for life!!!!!!
All audi owners dont trust AUDI service as they will make your pokcet scream!

After all I love AUDI cars
