Default trunk sensor?

Trunk reads open in the cluster even though is closed. why is this?

Your latch sensor is failing...replace the rear trunk latch, it's very easy and it'll fix your issue.

problem is that mine closes good. it just thinks its open in the cluster.

I'd recommend at least removing the latch and then checking that the sensor is inserted properly and that there's no disconnects in the system. If that fails to resolve the issue, try a new latch.

didn't you recently install a rear view camera??

Perhaps something got loosened in the process.

Spray some WD-40 lubricating oil in there. Once a year I apply Audi specific lube in hinges and latches but if you don't have Audi lubes, use WD-40.
Once applied, work the mechanism a few times and see if your warning vanishes.

WD40 was a short term fix on my C6. I eventually replaced the latch.
