Is it possible to upgrade from the old cd changer to the mp3 capabale cd changer?

I'm going nuts in my '06 A6 without the option to install AMI. I'm hoping hte recently purchased XM module will help a bit.

the problem with our 'older' Audis is that the wiring harness does not come with the necessary connections to allow for any form of iPod integration. There is only a CD connection to the CD player.

I would be interested to know how the Gateway 500 unit overcomes the lack of a wiring harness.

it shows as additional CDs or something like that IIRC. just inserted into the MOST fiber ring...

Does this allow for navigating the iPod through the MMI?
