Default V1 Install - northern NJ

I installed a V1 in my 2008 535 without any problems. I am trading out of that car and into a 2011 A6. So I am removing the V1 from the BMW and want to install it in my new A6. I've see several threads in various forums describing the installation, but it kinda scares me. I'd appreciate if anyone would recommend a reputable installer in the north Jersey (Essex) area to install my V1. Thanks in advance.

I want to put it above the rear view mirror on the driver's side. I am fine if the visor gets in the way when it is down. I rarely use the visor. I am hesitant about getting into the fuse box and doing the wiring there.

It is really easy to do with that fuse tap kit from autozone. I could walk you through it.

you can see it next to the mirror. I had it there and then I was stoped by cops. The conevrsation went like this:

- hi, you drove like a maniac. can I have your license and registration. oh, is this a V1 on the windshield? Did it help?

- sorry officer. It did not help. Do you want it smashed into pieces in front of you.

- no I will write you a ticket instead.

you also will need to remove it every time you live car on the street. and clean the sucksion cup marks. so nobody will break in to get the $400 toy from you.

In other words I think it is much better to hide it somewhere.
here is how my old setup looked like:

I just replaced the car so it will take some time to wire it into the new car.

I appreciate your comments, but I havent had any issues over the past three years when I had my V1 hardwired into my BMW - where it was in that same spot by the rear view mirror. I live in metro NYC and have parked it all over the city. Never felt that my install was an issue in any way. But, I do appreciate your point of view. Cheers.
