outside air 72F, A/C set to 68F sync'd both sides,
passenger side outer dash outlet starts blowing HOT air????
varying setting tried, no change....
so windows open, ECON on, manual fan speed set to 1 (low)
drive for another 5 miles down the freeway, speed 60 MPH
vents (plastic vanes and metal trim) cool to touch....
A/C back on, 71F outside, set to 68F, everything back to normal????
WTF happened?

actually, I did before posted, none fit this condition.
which one are you suggesting?
again the outer vents blow HOT, both driver's side and pass side,
the inner vents blow cool or normal for the requested A/C on, temp
requested 68F, outside temp 72F.

Take a look at the 7th TSB in the HVAC section of the TSB library set up by me and Dr. Cold. It describes your exact problem.

It's likely the HVAC pump valve. $200 part from genuineaudiparts, and about an hour to install. It's locate under the big plastic shield between the engine and the firewall in the engine comparment. Straight forward repair. Not hard. get some small vice grips for the hose clamps.

my outside vents #3 (from the in car manual) were blowing very hot,
the inside vents #4 were acting properly, blowing cold air appropriate
to the selected temp 68F v. outside temp 72F.
thanks.
