This has happened a couple of times...While detailing the interior on my '07 A6 Quattro, the radio would come on without the key in the ignition after I moved the keyfob to the dash. Even when the fob isn't inserted the radio would come on...
Like I said, wierd. Anyone else have this happen?

Funny... this got me the first time too. The radio button/**** next to the MMI Control in the middle console is "hot" and you probably inadvertently bumped it when cleaning and turned on the radio.
"Hot" means the radio can be turned on at any time - key or no key. After 10 minutes however it automatically turns off to prevent battery drain.

Happens to all Audis including the A4, A6 (C6) & A8.
Radio/MMI is designed to turn on even without the key.
The only way I turn it back off is to insert the key and then remove it.

One more thing.
Funnier thing is when I turn on the radio without the key inserted, both the speedo and the RPM meter moves like 1mm up and then back down.
Same for all others?
