Default Voice Command working after MMI upgrade

After the dealer upgraded my MMI to 4610, the voice command for the phone is now working. I can dial a number etc ('Help' gave me all the possible options), however, when I choose a name and say 'dial name', I get 'the phonebook is empty'. However, when i look under phonebook in the MMI, I can see the entries pulled in from my iPhone. Even 'Play phonebook' returns the 'Phonebook is empty'.

Any ideas on whats wrong with the 'Dial Name'?

Playbook has the names that you stored via voice command by saying the name and the number of the person.

As said, you need to STORE the voice tag for each phone book entry first.

According to the MMI manual:

Press the mode button on the MFSW
Scroll left thumbwheel to Phone book and press
Scroll left thumbwheel to desired phone book entry and press
Press the right TALK button and wait for beep
Say STORE
When prompted, say the name for that phone book entry
Repeat name when prompted

Voice tag should now be stored

HTH

I don't use the voice command feature for that very reason. I though it would be intuitive like the Acura voice command. It was a major dissapointment.

I don't disagree.

However, my nokia "automatically" assigns voice tags to all the contacts. Trying to get a match to it though is not easy. At least storing the names the way I say them makes matching much easier.

Ye olde swings and roundabouts.

Yeah, I wish they'd just turn that button on the steering wheel in to the button on a bluetooth headset. My phone already understands me when I talk to it, there's no need for the MMI to get in the way
