I just got the new Nav DVD (version 5) for my '05 C6. The DVD started loading slowly up to 7%, then jumps to 81%, then 89%, and then is done in less than 2 minutes. It asks me to reboot and afterwards, the nav is down. Everytime I try to enter an address, it says "check Nav DVD". What a mess! And of course, Navteq isn't open on the weekends, and the website has NO SUPPORT ASPECT.
Getting a little peeved with the Navteq company...anyone else had similar problems?

I got the dealer to give me a new NAV CD shorlty after purchasing my 05' A6 in early July. I did the same thing you did and followed the prompts on the MMI once the new CD was load into the computer. My MMI gave me the same reply "check NAV CD". I ended up having to take the car into the dealer and have my NAV computer replaced completely. The Audi Tech mentioned that he was replacing a lot of NAV computers because of the new CD. Let's hope the software update for the MMI is released soon, because apparently many of the these problems are solved with that update.

I installed version 5 today on my '05 A6, and so far it is working fine. (I wouldn't have if I had read your post first, though!) :-( Hope you can work it out.

I got the new NAV DVD as well on Thursday and installed it. Same thing 7% then 89%. I also got the "check NAV DVD" error twice, so I removed the DVD to see if any dirt was on it. I wiped it and put it back in. Haven't had any issues since. I don't think it was dirty but think it's simply when trying to access a lot of data the system has DVD read errors. But again, no errors for a few days.

Based on przygode's comments, I reinserted the new Nav DVD in to my car. It again prompted me to load new software and I accepted. Afterwards, I received the messages for "check nav DVD" numerous times.
I tried to enter an address that wasn't present in the prior disc. At first, when even trying to enter the zip code, I'd get the error message. But with repeated attempts, I'd get further and further into entering the address before getting the error message. After about 15-20 minutes, it let me enter the entire address (yes, it was present, indicating the new software) but still gave me an error message at the end.
I let the car "mull things over" for about an hour or two, and now it is working! Guess it just needs a LOT of time to load and unzip all the maps and data...
So for anyone else loading the software, if you get the error message, just wait it out and the nav software should be working within hours.
