I tried your suggestion this morning. Just seems like a car with a solar panel should be able to do better than keep the inside 106 degrees when its that hot outside (North Carolina!!). Guess its better than 130 degrees. I'd rather have remote start!

The best it can do is keep the inside and outside temperatures the same, which probably saves me 30 degrees in my dark blue car that is parked in full sun all day.

I just ran a little experiment in my driveway. I parked my dark blue Audi with the solar sunroof next to my wife's champagne colored Seqoia. It was 94 degrees outside. With sunroofs closed the Seqoia's interior got up to 129 and the Audi got up to 122. I then tilted open the sunroofs, and the Seqoia got up to 126, 3 degrees cooler than when closed. The Audi's interior got up to 107, 15 degrees cooler than closed. Since the Audi is a much darker color than the Seqoia I would have expected the Audi to get hotter. However, that was not the case. It certainly seems that the solar sunroof was good for at least a 15 to 22 degree drop, if not more.
