I guess the 4.2 is either alot more "entertaining" than the 3.2, or I am just a masochist.

I don't believe "masochist" is the descriptive I would choose.

Here's what he said:

What are you looking to know? I ran the VIN and the service history shows 46 invoices at 4 different dealers. First is the PDI when it was new, last is for the 28F2 ignition coil campaign at around 64,000 miles. It had all it's regular Audi paid maintenances done up to the 45,000 mile point. There are a few warranty repairs among the invoices also. Of course, this only shows Audi paid maint/repairs and not customer pay services. Appears to be a well maintained vehicle (as I said, up to 45K anyways). No open campaigns at this time. Don't have CarFax account, sorry. Keep in mind, certain info from Audi is confidential (like the previous owners name, phone, etc.......) so I can't tell you EVERYTHING about the cars history.

The warranty just ended last april. (2009)
You could always stash some away but for me, just the peace of mind is worth another 3-4k (if you can afford it) for 4yrs/48k miles. My car has had no problems other than a small oil leak which costs over 5k and now a dead MMI (my fault) /blown speaker(my fault) which is now being repaired under warranty.

If you do opt for the Audi Platunum Plus Warranty through Fidelity it can be purchased for 2-4 years 24-48k miles and prices run somewhere between 2500-4500.

I think it maybe; you got to say the 4.2 really separates the A6 or its hum hum like any other mid size German car. Plus the 4.2 brings features the Audi shamefully left out power tilt steering column, full voice command, ability to make the seat longer, and heated steering wheel.

Also where is my power head rests!! Come on Audi i remember my mom 97 E320 wagon had them, and that was before I could legally drive. I think it also had power steering column.
