Looking for assist in winter set up.Will a 17" x7" 5x112 ET 48 wheel with 225x 50 x17" Tire be appropriate for the A6 for winter? Having Balance problems on a set on Conti TS780, after an unsuccessful multiple balance try at a set of Hankook W300.= Total Frustration !! Two independent shops can't seem to balance w/o shake !!. (atfer check of Align too- w/in specs)Now wondering which is the culprit wheel or tire ? Maybe out of round tires ? How frequently does that happen with tires ?

235/40-18 = stock
225/50-17 = 1.8% too slow (60mph=61.1mph)
215/50-17 = 0.2% too slow (60=60.1)
215/55-16 = 0.4% too fast (60=59.8)

If you are thinking about getting replacement wheels, use your stock 18" for the snows and get the wheel you like in the spring for your summer driving. I run 18" blizzaks on my stock S4 Cab wheels and it is great (I live in the Syracuse NY area, so we get plenty of snow!).
