When my certified warranty runs out

the experiences with the 2005+ A6s that all of the 2005+ A6 owners that replied to this topic are having or have had are NOT, I repeat, NOT typical of 2005+ Audis other than the A3.
The experiences with the 2005+ A6s that all of the 2005+ A6 owners that replied to this topic are having or have had are, in fact, typical of all 1987 to 1989 and all 1998 to 2004 Audis. I am sorry about the ordeal you poor souls have to or have had to go through.
However, the truth be told, Audi's dependability, durability, quality, reliability and service have improved tremendously since 2005.
All of the above has been confirmed by Consumer Reports (or CR for short; CR is the automotive benchmark, FWIW) and True Delta (or TD for short), making it official. To a lesser extent, JD Power and Associates (or JD P&A for short) has also confirmed all of the above. To a lesser extent than that, Strategic Vision (or SV for short) has also confirmed all of the above.
All of everything in the fourth paragraph of this reply message being said, CR alone typically surveys 800,000+ vehicle owners per year (CR alone surveyed 1,300,000+ vehicle owners, FWIW). JD P&A typically surveys 200,000 to 300,000 vehicle owners per year (including 2006). SV typically surveys 100,000 to 200,000 per year (also including 2006). Therefore, JD P&A and SV combined typically survey 300,000 to 500,000 vehicle owners per year (again, including 2006), 300,000+ to 500,000+ less than CR alone (800,000+ to 1,000,000+ less than CR alone in 2006).
Therefore, unless JD P&A and SV agree with CR, JD P&A and SV are Grade rubbish.
I know absolutely nothing about True Delta as an automotive source so I cannot comment on them at all.
I also know that I post this same reply message a lot. But everytime I see people complain about problems with their 2005+ Audi’s other than the A3, it is probably the only thing that will make them feel better (which is far better than nothing at all).

It's been my experience participating in dozens of forums that you will always find more complaints than compliments. Most happy owners don't feel the need to seek out forums to vent. All forums must be viewed as insufficient sample size.
I'd like to know the statistitical sample size of the audi segments cited above including Cr and jdp and others.
Thanks!

Just for the record I am not at all dissatisfied with my car. I have had relatively few problems overall. IMO the quality seems very good and my dealership has also treated me right when they did have to perform a repair. The only reason I want to by an extended warranty when my CPO runs out is I plan on keeping the car and if something major was to happen repairs can be expensive out of pocket. I also made a mistake in my ealier post...my CPO does not run out for about a year and a half not 8 months like I originally said.

Yes, reasonable LABOR rate, but not reasonable PARTS cost. Our cars are highly sophisticated, with multiple expensive on-board controllers and German-made mechanical parts. There are no cheaper alternatives nor 2nd source for them. So a huge chunk of the repair bills will be dominated by the hefty genuine Audi parts cost. Thus, extended warranty is advisable.
