Where to put the Jack Stand?

Where to put the Jack Stand?
I am about to replace the front and rear brake pads and rotors on my 2008 A6 first time. The owner manual only indicated a single lift point on each side front and back. I can raise the car with a floor jack, but there is no place to put the jack stand. Most of the area around the lift point were covered with black plastic. Don’t want to damage anything underneath the car.
Does anyone know where to put the jack stand after the car is raised by a floor jack?
Any help would be appreciated.

Loosen the lugs a half turn, raise the car and slide the jack stand under the suspension arm. You could lower the car slightly to put some pressure on it but I usually don't. The jack stand is a safety back up in case the jack fails.

Just to make sure. Use the floor jack to raise the car at where the recommended lift point. Then put a jack stand underneath the control arm just in case the floor jack failed.

Loosen the lugs a half turn on the ground to reduce the amount of torque required when the wheel is in the air. When done with the brakes, put them back on snug, lower the car so the wheel is touching the ground and give them the final torque. Re-torque after 50 miles.

I just replaced a bad sway bar end link today so I thought I would take a few photos to show you how I do the front.
First, I drive the car onto ramps and chock the rear wheels. Then, I put a used hockey puck onto the jack and lift and this point. I raise the car off the ramp and place a jack stand under the lifting point behind the wheel.
Here, I am lowering the car onto the second stand.
Once the car is on the stands, I place block cribbing under the same points I used to lift the car. It's cheap life insurance.
I've done the rear before but I don't remember how I did it, sorry.
Best of luck.

Related question: where are the proper points for placing the arms of a lift? I'm doing some repairs on my folk's A6, and have access to a lift with flat rubber pads. Do I just locate the pads where the factory jack would go?
The PDF above says the points indicated are "Lifting points for lifting platform and trolley jack."
