Awesome, thanks for the confirmation. Flat rubber pads are fine, don't need a special insert shape or anything?

I use hockey pucks because they are cheap and work well.

I would definitely disagree with that.

The jack stand isnt supposed to be a back up. It’s suppose to be the main support. I wouldnt trust a floor jack to hold a car up any longer than to get some jack stands underneath it.

i wouldn’t trust a floor jack to hold the weight alone and a wouldnt trust a jack stand that a car comes droppping on to when a jack fails.

You should jack your car up, then lower down onto your jack stands. Once on the stands, you should give your car a push and try to rock it, just to make sure it is solid.

No way would I ever trust a hydraulic jack or a screw jack to support a car while I was underneath it. I have seen plenty of jacks fail but have never seen a jack stand fail.

i just realized that post was from 2014 but my point still stands for anyone that reads this thread.

Yep, agree 100%. Where to put the jack stands for the rear though? Do you have a pic? Nothing from Audi shows it only where the folding jack goes on the side. A diagram or picture would be great for an A6C6. Thanks.
