I can understand buying a classic car and saving it for nice days, but pretty much any modern car should be driven, particularly a four door sedan, like an A6. A while ago I went looking for a low mileage miata to build a track car. This was in 2006, and I cam across a couple early miatas (91 or 92) with <10k on the clock. One had less than 3,000 miles on it. I can't understand fetishizing a modern mass production car to the extent that you never drive it. At that point it just becomes a garage bauble. (Rant off) At the same time I love the idea of buying a 15 year old car that is practically brand new and driving the wheels off, but that does feel like a cruelty to the prior owner.

Oh and I am at 48k on the A6 4.2.
I'll also add that one of the eccentric joys I got from owning my Loti was wrenching on them. They were weekend and fair weather cars, but I drove them as much as possible, and probably spent just as much time fixing them. I'm thinking a supercharged Evora is in the cards for '10 or '11.

2005 A6 3.2 Black with Amaretto interior. 41,780. Had the Trunk problem and the A/C coompressor just went out, I just hit the CPO warranty and it covered the A/C. Also had the software updated. Its been a fantastic car.
