Default windshield hair crack

Hi,

I got about 12" (30cm) hair crack on the windshield coming from the corned of the glass. I have not dealt with this before and not sure what I suppose to do about it. Does it pose an imminent danger to grow and collapse the glass? Do I need to take it to the glass repair show and repair the crack.

thanks for your advice.

I used a mobile windshield repair service a few years ago on my MB E320 for some chips. They have a device that creates a vacuum, and then injects resin into the chip/crack. It was better after the repair, but still visible, so a couple years later I ended up getting a new windshield, also with a mobile service that came to my house.

It's doubtful a 12" crack can be repaired. Those glass shop repairs are mostly for filling small chips. Expect the crack to grow and a windshield replacement is probably in your future.

It won't collapse the glass, but it will probably will grow. No repair, you have to eventually replace the windshield.

+1, you've got no chance of repair on this...it'll get worse, so either get the windshield replaced or watch it get worse over time and potentially fail badly.
