No button on the B pillar for the infrared remote. The 95.5 - 97 urS cars had RF remotes. The locker disappeared with the infrared remotes.

Forgive my ignorance as I'm still new to the Audis. How is an EDL different than a conventional locking differential? I thought EDL essentially performed the same functionally.

My experience has been with GM vehicles, but I did notice that GM eliminated locking differentials on a lot of vehicles and use a new system of an open differential with computerized braking of the side that was slipping to force power transfer to the other side. Is that what my EDL in the Audi does?

Exactly. The lockers where actually locked internally. EDL is just ABS.

When I had my urS (95.5, so no locking diff, just EDL), I replaced the stock open diff with a torsen unit from a V8 (a common and easy swap). The torsen worked really well with EDL.

If you want to know what a more modern Audi is capable of, see this video:

Oh yeh. BMW SUVs completely dominate roller skate rink. Too bad in practical scenarios they suck.

I made the attached picture next morning after big new york snowstorm of 2010. You can see my station wagon which I drove at night of the storm and managed to park safely. You also can see X5 next to it which was abandoned shortly after I parked mine. So how is his ground clearance, his modern AWD and his overcompensating-macho-"Ultimate Driving Machine" helped?
