Default Winter tires on 06 A6

Now that we had some snow I better get some snow tires and rims. Only had the car 2 months so I don't know which snow tires work best. What do you snow belt guys run? 06 A6 3.2l s-line

Thanks,
Bob

I have used Dunlop Winter Sport M3s the last couple of years and have been very happy with them here in the Northeast.

Bob, you might want to check with Gary on what will fit the S-Line cars. Gary is the "Audi guy" at Tire Rack and provides support here.

I'm about to purchase a 16" package for our 2006 C6 wagon. The OE wheel on our car is 17" but I guess Tire Rack has found some 16" wheels that fit the car and have the correct offset. Furthermore, a taller/skinnier tire gives better snow traction, better protection from potholes, etc., and has a lower up-front purchase price.

Happy hunting!

If you putting wheels on a A6..make sure they are FORGED not Cast, huge difference in strength. The OEM wheels are Forged and another reason why they are so spendy but it's for several very good reasons.

Hopefully Gary chimes in on this. More snow this weekend (albeit light).

make sure the 16s fit over the brakes... they don't on the 4.2 but they may on the 3.2

Thanks. Gary says they guarantee correct fitment (caliper clearance issues and offset). I suspect they've trial fitted the 16" wheels they offer on their website for the C6 3.2 car.

What if you don't get the tire pressure monitors? Any problems come up with that?

I believe I can go turn off TPMS with VAGCOM (VCDS).
