Default Worn front motor mount?

I was looking around underneath my car last night (2005 A6 3.2 Quattro) and noticed this worn rubber mount. Looks like a very worn motor mount? I looked around and didn't see a procedure for changing this. Looks pretty straighforward. Almost looks possible to put a jack under the motor to keep it in place and then remove the 4 bolts holding the mount and replace witha new one. This is at the front of the engine and the mount is bolted to the lower front crossmember.

Is this a pretty common wear item?

I checked all the suspension bits and the entire driveline and this is the only thing I saw that looked worn.

If that is the snubber mount on the front of the engine it does not support any weight. It's primary purpose is to react to torque loads under high acceleration. I am pretty sure can be removed and replaced without jacking up the engine.

I had to replace mine at 50,000 miles. Both sides were done.

How hard was it? Do you happen to have part #'s?

that pic is not the left or right electric solenoid engine mounts ... it could be the snubber mount but i have no idea what that is though

The mount in the picture is the front torque mount, not the side mounts that are mentioned in the previous post.
Not sure where you see the wear on that torque mount, it looks normal. Unless you drive your car in a very abusive manner, that one should not go bad.

It just looked mishapen and had cracks around it. I suppose it just lets the engine flex.
