Wow, the new A4 is just a smaller version of the A6

Checked out the new A4 at the LA Auto show. Can't say I'm liking where Audi is going with their lineup.. the cars almost overlap each other!
The A4 looks just like a smaller version of the new A6. Makes the A6 look even more boring now.
I know that a lot of European automakers make them all look similar, but at least you can tell which is the 40K car, and which is the 60K car.

The A4 front looks a little bit like the A6, but the rear on the A4 is just plain ugly IMO. The A4 doesn't have the same flowing lines as the A6, and doesn't look harmonic at all.
I'm afraid the A4 leans a bit too much on the old A4, so the design looks a bit like the designers didn't have enough elbow room to create a harmonic looking car.
The A6 on the other hand is a brand new car, and they started with a clean sheet of paper and came up with a beutiful design all over. I cannot find one thing I would like to have changed on the A6 design!
Just my $0.02

The A4 has many notable features that were previously notable only on the C6. I.E. the nose, the 3.2 FSI, and some of the electronic features which are now going to be shared with the little sibling. I feel a little jealous given the money I paid for my car for a much cheaper car to have many of the striking amenities.
I agree, though, that it's not a "mini-C6", but does have similarities...

See any similarities?

And with a new 280HP VR6 that's more power than the 3.2 A6 and fully loaded at $38k.
Leaving the A6 the only thing to offer being the V8 in the 4.2
