Yet another oil leak....

Have had a slight oil leak on the 3.2 for awhile now - back of engine area. More of an annoyance than anything else so I put a drip pan down in the garage for the occasional spot. Had to spend the weekend under the C5 and pulled the 06 out of the garage to work on the other car. About a 6 inch puddle of oil this time. Cleaned the drip pan off and pulled the car back in after a short shopping trip. Another 6 inch puddle this morning. Was just able to grab a quick look under the car before taking the kids back to college and the frame under the engine was dripping - oil pan was dry. From the top down, nothing obvious. Both timing chain covers re-sealed about 15K back. Any other common leaks on the 3.2 besides the chain covers? Source seems to be back of engine. Valve cover seals are tight. Just haven't had the time to get this up on a lift to see yet.
Changed oil and filter about two weeks ago, but I can't see any residual oil under the filter area. Just seems like each time I've changed the filter, the leaks have gotten worse. Maybe coincidence as I checked the filter cover and it's sound. Wondering about the bottom half?
Thanks,
AJG

It may be the cam carrier seal. I have an 05 A6 with 169k on it. Initial leak was detected around 119k (still drives like new... I just have to have bottles of Mobil1 in my trunk). Rear cam covers and valve cover gaskets were done twice and still did not fix problem.

I should not answer because I have a 4.2 not a 3.2. But my 4.2 leaked at the base of the oil filter housing, which I could see getting worse with each progressive oil change as you described. Again, my car is a 4.2.

I think I have the solution for your problem and to everyone with seals leaking. It's called "atp at-205 re-seal" if there is a dry seal and not cracked it will stop leaking. Tried in 3 vehicles and it has worked. On My 2007 4.2 went from dripping under load to bone dry. 2 bottles of it with fresh oil change. 100 miles of driving and worked like a miracle! It is not snake oil! That stuff works! You have nothing to loose, if it doesn't than the seal might be cracked.

Turned out to be rear timing chain covers again. Just had them sealed less than a year ago. Leaks were so bad that dealer failed me on inspection due to safety - too much oil pouring onto the hot exhaust.
