This is my first post so forgive me if I didn't get it right.
About a year and a half ago I gave my wife a 2012 A6 for our 25th anniversary. Phantom Black, premium plus, 2.0T, 19" sport package and side assist. I even got to drive it when it needed a wash or service. It was our first Audi and we've been very happy with it.
Today I ordered mine, a 2015 A7, which should arrive in 2-3 months.
It's a 3.0 TFSI Prestige in Quartz Grey Metallic with Nougat Brown leather, natural ash wood, and black headliner. 19" sport package with the 20" wheel upgrade. Also added the cargo mat.
By the way, the prestige package for 2015 includes head up display and LED headlights. Side assist is standard on all A7's now.
I'm looking forward to the delivery date.

You're going to love it. I had 3 A6s before going with the 2012 A7. Loved it so much just ordered a 2015 A7

I am just about to trade in my old 2012 Audi A6 the best car I have driven and am looking to get the new 2015 A7 but get the feeling it will be more or less the same. We dont get pricing and availability for it here in the UK until next month.

Any thoughts?

From a looks standpoint the A& is very different and more exclusive than the A6 - and that is why we pay ~$7K US more than. If you get the same engine and suspension in your new A7 as in your current A6, it will be more or less the same. So if you don't care/aren't excited about the looks and exclusivity, save your money and stick with another A6.

congrats on your A7 upgrade! While the A6 is near the top of a crowded sedan segment, the A7 sportback gets much more personal, just my opinion.
