Dropped off my 7 month old A7 this morning for it's 5k service and a recall. They loaned me a '09 A6. The recall was to lubricate the MMI dial. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Is the MMI dial lubrication an actual recall, or just part of the overall 5K service?
If the former, is this a general recall with an official notice (I haven't seen anything in terms of A7 recalls, but may not be looking in the right places), does it affect all VINs, or just some?

Just turned mine in this AM for 5k service & was told they would do the lubricant on mine as well. Interestingly, listed as a recall on my sheet, but the word "recall" was marked through by the service guy who said it wasn't really a recall, but as the cars come in for service, Audi has instructed them to do the lubricant

Depending on the time I drop off my car. If it's really early in the morning I usually can get a new A8, or at least an Audi. When they run out of Audis, I would end up with Enterprise, and you know how that goes.
