I think the A9 is more than likely going to happen. The best evidence I have is when the Audi execs spoke of the Panamera after the Porsche acquisition and derided the fact that Porsche would build such a heavy car. In other words "watch us build a lightweight version in Al and you will see!"
In any event if they do go ahead and build it on the A8 platform it would be great - with comparable mileage, power, handling and driver feel as the A7 just bigger and more expensive.
