Default dents in the center console trim, fixable?

Couldn't find anything on this topic... Attached a few pictures of a dent on the passenger side of the center console aluminum trim. Hard to see in the pic but it's between the start button and the volume ****.

How is easy is it to replace the aluminum piece and what is the cost, where to get?

Not much history to answer your questions. It seems like many people have wood trim which is more forgiving.

Check with the dealer for the replacement pricing.

Other options:
1. take the car to a body shop and have it repaired. It's a dent in aluminum and shouldn't be hard to return it to the original shape
2. you could remove the piece and have it repaired or replaced
3. Someone could replace it with a more durable trim like the carbon fiber found in the S7.

Here's a link to a thread about A6 C6 trim removal. Your C7 should be similar.

This place - http://ocarbon.com/ - sells carbon fiber wrapped trim pieces. The have silver colored carbon fiber that would match your aluminum.

I would think that they could advise you on trim removal procedures.

They are also looking for owners of cool cars... I think that you qualify. You might be able to have custom trim for cost.

Good find, thanks for the tip! I actually thought of giving Matt a call if I was going to end up replacing the whole piece.

So anyone figure out trim removal for the C7 A6/A7? I am considering the possibility of going with ocarbon as well. For the dash trim, I'm not sure if there's any screws to remove behind the vents, and for the center console, it seems like a different design than the C6.
