As you all know by now, my engine was replaced because of a 10" rainstorm i attempted to drive through. The car was returned 15 days later and is better than ever. The only other issue I've had was a weight sensor issue in the front passenger seat, which was successfully reprogrammed.
The issue I'm wary about is battery life, powering all those on board electronics - especially down here in SoFlo with the constant 90+ summer days .

Rick, actually, it's the alternator that powers all the electronics while driving. I'm sure the battery and alternator are over-rated for all of the draw these cars pull. I wouldn't worry about the battery - it shoud be good for a few years, unless you're frequently running everything for extended periods of time with the engine off in between lots of short trips and even then...

When I was living in Arizona part-time some years ago, the battery on my S4 Cabrio died while I was away for a few months during the summer. Heat is hard on batteries and the best thing you can do in make sure to put it on a battery tender (not a standard charger) if you're not going to be using the car for a while.

One of the reason to move the battery to the rear is so it would not be subject to engine heat. My military training said that lead acid batteries lasted 300 full cycles. That's about 5 years in an automobile. Factor a little less if you play a large stereo system with the engine off.
Technology has advanced and there are powerful batteries that are smaller and can be placed in any position.
