Default hardwiring radar detector on A7

This is going to be my first time hard-wiring a radar detector on an Audi. I have done it on my 06 Acura RL and I tapped the power into the fuse box. I have read from other posts on the forum where people hardwired their detectors to the fuse box and it looks identical to what I have done in the past. Has anyone done so on his/her A7? Which slot should I specifically tap the power to and does the plastic cover of the fuse box indicate where is what? Thanks.

UW, here's a different, quicker solution:

You could be the first to attempt in a Q7 and let us know if it's similar.

I used the wrong username (I am UW RL) and since I have sold my RL now, and picking up my A7, I have created a new username.

I will be installing it on the A7, not my Q7. And I will also go to the fusebox and I feel more comfortable that way. The overhead method involves splicing the wires for the Homelink which maybe or may not be easier.

No splicing involved. One just uses a quik-tap.

Use the technique you're comfortable with!

All right, picked up my car this morning and hardwired my old Escort 8500 this afternoon. Took me about 20 min or so. It was very easy and I tapped the power to the Homelink fuse.
