Default Leaving Spoiler Up

If you manually put the spoiler up, is there a way to leave it up? Mine will stay up when I kill the engine, but as soon as I start the car again it goes done. I prefer the look of the car with it up, but don't want to manually cycle it all the time.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

I feel the EXACT same way - I like the spoiler up rather than down but I too have not found any way to keep it raised even after restarting the car. Perhaps it's part of the VAG reprogramming that I've heard about.

Disconnect the motor wiring and wedge it mechanically open

I think just disconnecting the motor while it's up should be better?

You still need to wedge it open.

Even better, use a large expansion spring to keep it open and install a touch latch. That way it can be opened and closed just like the fuel door.

The motor won't return to the default setting when the power is disconnected, right?

The motor will not, but there is nothing to stop the flap to slowly work itself closed from the bumps and vibration.

It should have a worm drive that would keep it open. If it had regular gears, it would tend to close from the wind hitting it while driving.

Pull the plug and see how long to stays up before pinning the arms.

OK - you go first on the next electro-mechanical based answer.
