Hello, my 12 A7 just showed me this message on the dash. After getting home and parking it. I went inside briefly. The next time I used the car, the problem was not there.
Has anyone seen this and what, if anything was the solution?
Thanks in advance.

This happens sometime with incandescent bulbs. The filament breaks and you get the error message. As you are driving and the filament moves around, sometimes the broken pieces touch and make contact again, so the car considers it a good bulb, no error message. Replace the bulb. You can usually see the broken filament by shaking the bulb.

The license plate lights are LED on my 2012 Prestige. The rear red side marker lights are incandescent and I heard that the reverse lamps are incandescent too. The trunk lamps should have nothing to do with the warning since they are off with the hatch closed.
The tail lights are LED and since the error message specified the left rear lamp, it might be a flakey connection. If you see it again, pull over and check the tails to verify. It could be some electronic cobwebs.
