My 2015 A7 will arrive in about a week. I know there must be a thread on here with tint advice but I haven't been able to find it.

My wife's 2012 A6 was a dealer's car for 6 months and was already tinted with black tint when we bought it. The front tint seems a little darker than I might want. It looks pretty good with the phantom black pearl paint but I do have a little trouble seeing the corner of the driveway when at night when I make the turn.

I live in SW Florida so there's a lot of sunlight and hot weather.

The car is quartz grey metallic with nougat brown interior, black headliner, prestige package and 20" wheels with sport package.

I'm not looking for the 'ghetto gansta' look.

I'm wondering about 3M Crystalline, I've heard it's expensive but what is a fair price? I'm also considering clear or nearly clear tint on the front windshield, technically illegal in Florida but it's really undetectable and supposedly reduces heat and UV fading considerably.

I'm a little concerned about windshield tint affecting the Audi head up display, rain sensing automatic windshield wipers, my toll transponder, and a potential radar detector (if I get one).

I've seen some vehicles with attractive tint in shades of silver and grey (as opposed to black or blue) and this appeals to me.

I'm probably going to want to go darker on the rear doors and hatch than the front doors.

I'm interested to hear about what your experiences have been and if you would change any thing after you've been driving the car for a while.

Not sure about the "ghetto gangsta" not sure what that really mean but I have limo all around.

Beautiful car and nice garage!

After seeing your car with dark tint, I guess those words are inappropriate for an A7.

Thanks for the links. They were very helpful.

My car arrived today! A little sooner than expected, although I ordered it in late June.

They're cleaning it up and running it through service tests today.

As for the tint, I decided on 3M Crystalline 70 on the windshield and 40 for the rest of the car. It will be tinted tomorrow and I'll pick it up on Friday.
