Default Porsche Sport Turismo

What do you guys think of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo concept?

I really like it. Could be an A7 replacement some day.

I think you'll get a biased response if asking in an Audi forum. May want to check Porsche forums as well.

With all cars, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some will love it, some will hate it, others will be indifferent.

Car seems really nice from power/accel aspects.

I personally do not like the look at all (front is nice, back is hideous). That's just my opinion. I also think the Honda Element, Nissan Cube, and Scion xB are among the most hideous cars ever made. Yet people still buy them and love them. What you buy will be ultimately up to you. Never buy to impress. It is the surest way for buyers remorse.

Default It's what the Panamera should have looked like from the start...

Certainly flows much better. I think Porsche tried too hard to achieve a 911 silhouette in their sedan design. Once that objective met the realities of packaging dimensions, rear seat headroom, etc, we ended up with the current compromise. Destined to join the Bangle BMWs on any list of most controversial auto designs.

Default More of a competitor to the A3?

I know the performance specs don't match; but the first time I saw this car, I thought of it as more of a competitor to the A3.

I believe it's a matter of personal taste. I came out of a Porsche 987S into my A7 and had considered the Panamera and BMW 550i - Bimmer was too claustrophobic and the Panamera, while a super built car, was one that was fairly strange looking. Personally I believe Porsche should stick with the 911's & 987 and leave the sedans and SUV's to the Japanese - they just aren't true Porsche's - but that's my personal opinion. The Panamera Sport Turismo is yet another twist for them - sort of like the horrible Nissan Murano convertible!!

Thanks for letting me know about this earlier thread.

Since looks are so subjective, I'm not surprised about the mixed responses. I'm sure you will find plenty of A6 owners who would never consider an A7 based on looks alone.

I did check the responses on Rennlist, and most forum members seemed to like it - except for the folks that don't think Porsche should make anything other than 2 seat sport cars.

I agree to a certain extent. One thing I admire about Porsche (and now Audi) is that the designers do a great job in the evolution on their cars. IMO the current 3rd generation Cayenne is vastly more attractive than the hideous original. Ditto for the always attractive 911, Cayman, etc. I certainly expect that Porsche will improve the Panamera (and variants) with each refresh.
