Problems with wiper blades

Quick Solution
Take one piece of Bounty or a HandiWipe, put some Isopropol Alcohol on it, take blade, and wipe down from one end to the other, turn over wipe cloth and repeat until all the grit and dirt are gone.
Worked wonders for me when I drove to work in NY tristate area back in the day, with all the sand, salt and other stuff they used on the roads.

Same issue with my '10 A6 (although not as bade as shown in your pic), even after replacing the OEM blades with Bosch ones.

Does anyone have a problem with the speed of the wipers? My wife has an A5 and in really heavy rain they never seem wipe the window quickly enough. Because of this we have had to put rain-x on the windscreen to help the rain clear.

Check the clips
I had a similar problem at less than 5000 miles. One of the clips on the wiper blade appeared to be reversed (i.e. went the opposite of all the others). My dealer replaced both blades for free at me 5000 mile service. Seems to work fine now.

RainX is great... I have not had a chance to put it on my A7 (only had it 2 days), but will be... it will help with getting dirt of the windscreen, and also help with visibility at night.
On my old car, I use to turn the wipers off when driving the motorway (highway for the US), as the rain would clear quicker and cleaner than using the wipers.

AquaPel
I used Rain-X until I heard about and tried AquaPel, which is made by PPG. Costco sometimes carries it, and the dealer will offer to apply it to JUST your windshield for about $40, but I order it via eBay, usually about 24 applicators for $100-$120. I can apply it to all the windows and mirrors on a car with one applicator, and it will last 6-18 months easily. When I re-apply, I usually open just one applicator, and recoat the windshields on two cars. If you see it for sale, locally (Costco?), give it a try, you won't be disappointed. I plan on throughly coating the back hatch window of my S7 (delivery in March) after reading the posts of that window being hard to see out of in rainy conditions. By the way, it also is a miracle product on glass shower doors - it has lasted nearly six years on my shower glass.

Finally decided to do it myself. Looked closely at the scrubbing blade and saw it wouls park with a twist in the blade. Measured arm both sides to screen and guess what, not parallel. got a chisel and inserted it in the arm and bent it until it was parallel hey presto no scrub!!!!! So why couldn't the Audi engineer do this?
