Default Rubber Trim around Windshield

I have noted that the rubber moulding around the windshield has faded/water marks. I pointed it out to the dealer and he showed me it to be the same for all A7s (at least we didn't look at other models).

Dealers advice was to put on silicone grease.

Has anyone else seen the issue? Any other suggestions?

I have the same problem. So far whatever I have used, makes the marks fade but after a while they return. I'll try your suggestion and let you know.

I have the same problem. I tried Amour All, which didn't work very well. I'll try the silicone grease too.

I've had exactly the same problem, water spots on the rubber trim around the windshield unless I dry it off immediately after washing the car. I thought it was pretty easy to remove the spots with an all purpose cleaner or detailing spray. Now I wipe it down then apply whatever sealant I use on the painted surfaces and it's fine until the next wash.

I bought some Vinyl and Rubber dressing from Griots Garage (via Amazon) and it worked great. Put a small amount on a tire dressing sponge and rubbed it across once. No gloss, but nicely restored the dark black color.

But how long does the shine it last?

This is indicative of low quality rubber trim.

+1 the GG rubber dressing. I applied just a dab several weeks ago and it's held up through a few washes and is still looking good.

I only applied last weekend so time will tell on durability.
