Default Side Mirrors intermittently turn in upon remote lock

Good morning

To my request, the dealer set my side mirrors to turn in upon exiting and locking my A7 with the remote key fob. This feature worked beautifully up until recently, and now there are times in which they do not turn in. For example, last night they didn't, but this morning when I parked at work and locked the car they did. Anyone else having this issue? I dont want to have the service people drive up to work from my local Audi dealership if it is a technical oversight on my part.

Thanks in advance

Just to clarify, you are locking your car each time? The fold up feature will work when you lock the car using the fob or by pressing the button on the door handle. If you do not lock the car, they remain in their normal driving position.

Yes, locking the car each time.

Actually, that is a good question. I may have picked up the other key, which sits close to where I drop my primary when I go in the house. I will experiment when I get home. Thanks

When the mirrors fail to fold, is the car "beeping" to signal that it's locked? Several times my mirrors failed to fold and then I noticed that I didn't hear the beep. So, I hit the unlock button and then hit the lock button again and I got the beep and folding mirrors. This also happened to me when a door wasn't completely closed and I attempted to lock the car.

I tried that last night. I locked the car with the remote and I did hear a beep and saw the lights flash, but the mirrors didn't fold in. I then unlocked it, and repeated the sequence to no avail. I will see if it is coded specifically to a key fob when I get home.

I checked out this theory over the weekend and indeed the dealer had coded one of my remotes and not the other. One distinctly folds in the side mirrors and triggers the audible beep when the lock button is pressed, and the other doesn't.

Thanks, still learning the idiosyncrasies of this vehicle every day.

You can program it yourself in your MMI. Go to CAR > Vehicle settings > Locking menu > fold mirrors in when locked > ON

You have to do it for each key. It sounds like one key had it on, one off.

Great info, thank you for taking the time to look that up and post it. I have been so busy with work lately I haven't had the time to read up on the gadgetry much.
