Default Snow Tires

The weather is turning and after only a month of owning my car (20" sport package), I need to start thinking about snow tires. I am highly leaning towards the path of least resistance and ordering the standard option from the Audi Parts website. Appears to be a ~14% discount right now. Questions:

1. Can I go with the A6 option (Winter Wheel and Tire Package for Audi A6 - Model Year 2012-2014. 8.0x18" ET37 alloy wheel package with Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D AO 225/50R18 99H tires) on my A7? Or should I put this out of my mind to save only $150

2. Any observations (good or bad) on the A7 option (Winter Wheel and Tire Package for Audi A7 / S7 - Model Year 2012-2014. 8.0x19" ET26 alloy wheel package with Continental WinterContact TS 830P AO 235/45R19 99V tires)?

3. Anyone feel particularly strongly I should instead go to tirerack / non-OEM and get something different?

(One caveat - i did purchase the tire warranty with my original purchase and that does pick up my snow set-up, but I honestly am not sure if it only picks up OEM product, or if it would pick up an after-market option instead)

Also my Audi dealer said the Audi wheel and tire warranty would cover non-OEM winters

Check out this thread for some good recommendations. My pick would be (and has been) the Nokians.

The 14% discount is from Audi parts? If yes, how did you find out about it?

Thanks.

I just went to the Audi parts website, picked the tires I wanted, clicked find dealer, and then they had the price discounted by about 14%

I just went back in and was able to duplicate for my dealer again, but then tried a different dealer and got an even better discount (16%), then tried a third dealer (where I used to live out of state) and got no discount at all

Just wondering for an 18" package, with a 16% discount from Audi Parts, how close did you get to the $1750 package from Tire Rack which includes mounting, road force balancing, shipping and taxes?

Phoenix - I only priced the 19 inch with continental tires (only a7 option). List was $3100, online price was $2600 (a bit below that price). Did not price out the a6 option (which I believe is an 18 inch setup). So you're still way better than that the 19inch price!

Nokians have always been my winter tire of choice, just installed WGR3s on my car. Best of both worlds unless you live in the Arctic!

Is TireRack correct is saying that I don't need TPMS sensors for my winter wheels? Just want to make sure before I pull the trigger on a winter set.
