Hi

I just noticed an article in a Swedish car magazine on this (http://www.teknikensvarld.se/2013/03...ya-audi-bilar/, it's in Swedish but you can try to translate it with google).

Basically it is saying that Audi is aware of the issue, it is related to electromechanical steering, but they don't have a fix at the moment although one is under development.

Apparently the issue is most likely to occure when it is cold, around 32-40F degrees

After several assurances from my local Audi dealer that Audi itself was aware of the problem and working on it, I asked for a call-back from Audi. Audi's Customer Rep did call back and offered no timeline for a fix, but said an interesting thing - "AUDI CONSIDERS THE STEERING PROBLEM TO BE A COMFORT ISSUE AND NOT A SAFETY ISSUE." That, to me explains why it's taking so long for them to find a fix; they're not sufficiently motivated. My recommendation is to place a request for an Audi Customer Rep call back with your dealer. When Audi calls back, make certain to stress the fact the the steering issue is a SAFETY concern and not a COMFORT concern. When Audi eventually recognizes this as a safety issue, I suspect the fix will be prompt.
