Upgrading steering wheel to DSG paddle, re-use airbag?
Hey, i'm looking to upgrade my 2015 a7 facelift black edition steering wheel to paddleshift.
Currently installed is the sline w/out paddles ''below''.
Is it possible to buy the version w/DSG or flat botton w/DSG and re-use the airbag?
I see a good few going on ebay much cheaper without the airbag.
I've been reading that there are different wheels that use different airbag, plus if you have the sport wheel you can re-use the bag but i'm not sure if i have the sport wheel.
Little confusing so any help is appreciated!
A quick search for a7 dsg and flat bottom showed be the below. The rear mounting metal look a bit different.
If you fit a round sport wheel with paddle shifters, you can reuse your old airbag. If you go flat bottom, you'll need a new bag. The attachment points are different.
Very interesting . If I could possibly piggyback on your thread I'm looking at A 14 diesel A7. it doesn't have a heated steering wheel . Do you think I would have no issue adding a steering wheel that has the heated function?
