Very nice! Did you look at other tint options? I've heard ceramic tint is not as dark as the 3M, but reduces cabin heating better?

Yes, 3M had two with those properties but one had a bluish tone
and the other a slight brown tone. We both agreed the black would
be a better match for the divider post I believe is called the B pillar.
They cost twice as much but wasn't a factor.
To be honest looks was first priority and cooling was second.

About how much do the two different types cost? I haven't really looked into it seriously.

Very nice car. Just heard from my dealer today that my 2013 should be arriving last week of August/first week of September. I actually put my order in April, but then got bumped to 2013, of which I am glad, because I really like getting Stop/Start tech in the car. I debated about adding the 3-seat bench to my order, but decided not to. I like the 4-seat coupe effect. All in:

Prestige
Quartz Metallic
Light Gray Interior/Ash Inlays
Innovation Package
20-inch wheels

Did not get the B&O system. I listened to one, and was not convinced of the ROI on that price tag. Will be turning in my 2006 A4 Cabrio in for this. Great car, and will miss her, but wife got the A6 in the divorce, and I needed something better suited to business.

My first post; cheers!

Congrats Pale Rider!!
Great choices you made for your car.
Ordering is definitely worth the wait plus you get the 2013.
Post some pics when it comes in.

Thanks much, and I will definitely post pics. The only thing that will keep me from taking photos is driving her! I really do like that red, more than I thought I would when I saw it as a color option. BTW, what sort of shop did your window tinting?

Me too! Doesn't this car look just great with the Grey interior and matt finished wood? I am surprised not to see more like this.

Agreed! I like lighter interiors, in part because I like a sense of lightness in the enclosed space, and for temperature control. When I put the materials samples together at my dealer, I thought they looked great. I was surprised when he told me I was his "first light gray interior" A7. But given the relatively small number being sold, and the fact that apparently most are not BTO, I became less surprised.

Do you already have yours? If so, please post pics. I am so far past counting the days. I guess I have had plenty of time to develop buyer's remorse, but have never wavered from my decision.

I had a local two man shop do mine. They specialize in window tint
and clear bra applications. They are known for doing high end cars.
They also guarantee their work for as long as you own the car.
They recommended a 3M product in black and I'm very pleased.
