I have been searching around the forum and have not been able to find any pictures of black A7's with tinted windows.

Does anyone have any pictures they could show me? Also, anything to look out for at the window tint shops? I don't know much about window tinting so I am unsure if certain products are better than others?

Apologize if this has already been covered, I could not find anything helpful in the thread search. Thanks in advance.

There are many threads about tinting. What density depends on your local laws and the amount of sun you get. There are pictures in the A6 and A7 photo threads at the tops of both sections.

It's illegal in CA to have your front windows tinted, but I don't care, the car looks so much better with tint all the way around.

I went 20% around.

I've had window tinting for 30 years since driving to Mexico for med school. It has always been for sun protection and not for the cool factor. During my fellowship days in houston 84-87 had a red Corolla with15% tint and my son still nearly got heat stroke with the ac on while in his carseat in the back seat. As my 7 is registered in PA legal tint is 70% so I pushed it to 60% 3M ceramic (Crystaline) all the way around including sunroof but not windshield (inspection sticker problems). I was totally blown away as to how much better ceramic tints protect from IR and UV radiation than nearly limo tint (5%) protects. So unless you are looking for tinting for the cosmetic effect for less than 40% which is the lowest I've.seen for ceramic tint, I'd highly recommend ceramic which is far superior for heat and sun protection. Huper Optik is the best, but I couldn't find anyone in the south FL area and only supplier 400 mile northwest of me was a residential/commercial window installer. My installer was a 3M and Suntek installer and felt 3m was better. Total cost was $275.

Most of my customer that I have in LA. use 3M. If it is done right you wont have a problem with the tint. Just make sure your inside the guide lines of % of tint. Had a friend got pull over for a tint check and they found some grass in the car. Got lucky trooper gave him a ticket for the grass. and pulled his license plate until he came back and got inspected with the legal %.
