A7e vs BMW 530e - comparison?
Anybody consider both an A7e and a BMW 530e and can provide any insights, particularly with respect to the implementation of the PHEV/transition. I'm an Audi guy and would much prefer an A7e but they are very hard to find in good condition with low miles, particularly in Prestige trim. BMW 530e's are much more available, which I suspect is because many more were produced.
Any input appreciated, even if you haven't driven them but just considered them.

I just noticed this.
There is no comparison. The later models of these two cars are quite different than the older ones. The 530e is a 4 cyl, the A7 Prestige is a v6.
The 530 is a sedan, the A7 is a sportback coupe.
Edmunds.com has a good car comparison chart that I've used often. It was very helpful when I was shopping:

I'm curious as to what you finally decided?

The A7e also uses a 4 cylinder engine. I think the sales numbers would be very low in the US market, because it was only sold for a couple of years IIRC. Think the OP gave up waiting for any comments!

I wasn't aware of any A7 anywhere that was available with a 4 cyl. But, I'm in the US and not familiar with overseas supplies. If they were produced, They no
doubt would be extremely rare. Regardless, one would be hard-pressed to try and compare BMW 4 cyl and an Audi V6, especially
the late models..
The OP was looking for a low mileage car, which I assumed was a late model.

OP here. The A7e was a limited production vehicle in 2021. It was announced for 2022 but I don't think any 2022s were sold (at least in the US). It is a plug-in hybrid mating a 4 cylinder gas engine with a 14.4 battery. I finally found a used Prestige model. In my experience, the drivetrain system is flawless - but I also thought the BMW drivetrain was excellent. All other aspects of the Audi - ride, comfort, ergonomics, luxury, design - were far superior to the BMW. Handling is a toss-up but not a good comparison since my Audi has Conti ExtremeContact (great tires) and the BMW had runflats. Fit and finish was excellent on both cars.

No need to be humbled, as noted they were only sold for a limited period in the US market, and bowiedog did well to find one. Factory production was stopped for a large part of 2023 as the EU changed tax requirements and the battery range had to be increased. It never came back to the US, and I suspect this was in part a supply / cost decision. The hybrids are big sellers in Europe, due to tax advantages for fleet buyers. They also help Audi meet the EU fleet emission targets, so maybe they have supply issues.
Although reading recent US media sources, it seems hybrid sales are growing quite quickly, so you would think AoA should be at least thinking of bringing the A6e and A7e back.
Only the A8 hybrid uses the EA839 V6 engine, as does the Porsche Panamera 4 and 4S E-Hybrid versions.
