Front License Plate Help
Just got a 2021 A7e and trying to figure out how to mount the front plate. The snap-in attachment points are there and I understand that I have to drill/punch out the "dimples". But that means I can only screw in the bottom of the plate and the top hangs loose. And every bracket/holder that I see would also be screwed in at the bottom. What am I missing? Do I have to drill additional fresh holes into the flat piece of the bumper (I'd hate that). Or do I mount it using only the top holes and let it hang down which I think looks bad? I don't want to do a tow hook and there appears to be no way to do a decent looking zip tie attachment. And, while I prefer not to have a front plate, the local police disagree.
Attached is a photo of the snap-in attachment point and a photo off the web of an A7 front plate that appears "properl
y" mounted.

I used silicon license plate holder
For my A6 I used some very inexpensive vinyl license plate holders $8.99/set on Amazon that came with some self tapping screws. The screw holes that came with the dealer plate barely fit the license plate itself. The dealership wasn't all that compulsive in mounting.
But with a bit of finesse, the silicon frame worked fine and the self tapping screws set in nicely at all 4 corners.
As an aside, my son was fed up with his old Mazda plates/frames when he had to change them out after moving. Resorted to the clear "alien tape" to stick it on. Held up amazingly well in all types of weather. (your milage may vary) Once he sold the car, the tape/plate came off easily with a heat gun and left no residue.
