Hey guys!
I have a 2019 A7 Sportline with the B&O 3D Sound System. The sub sounds pretty good, but I have the need to upgrade all the speakers over time. The sound is great overall, but why not make it better? Right?!
So I purchased a Kicker Comp 6.75" sub and put it in a nice little MDF enclosure i found on Amazon. The enclosure has some polyfill and is wired up. I'm hoping I won't need an amp, as I've read on the forums that the stock system puts out enough power for the Kicker sub I purchased.
The stock sub has some odd wiring and it comes out of the amp looking like a maze of various colored wires and there's roughly 1,000 of these wires. Ha!I looked where the 4 wires going to the sub are likely + and - , so I attempted to replicate that into my Kicker, but no sound was being produced, or it was so low that it was unusable. I tried reversing polarity and other wiring setups, but nothing came out. The sub works well, as I've tested it on my home outdoor setup with roughly 150W coming out of my home amplifier and it sounds good. What am I doing wrong? I have upgraded the speakers in practically every vehicle I've ever owned, but this B&O setup is very different! I'm attaching pics! Please help me out here and I appreciate all the input!
