Default is "fuel trim - bank 1 (and 2) - system too lean. Intermittent" a big deal?

A8CT was kind enough to pull the codes for me friday after my check engine light popped on a week ago. also programmed the locks and tranny of course.

got two codes:

17536 bank 1
17538 bank 2

both said "fuel trim: bank 1/2 (mult) system too lean. Intermittent."

it's a 2000 a8 with 36k miles, and i've had it for about a month/1,500 miles.

since he cleared the codes, it hasn't come on again and i've driven maybe 300 miles (to a great ferrari owner's event at west point on sunday, by the way. they wouldn't let me park the a8 on the field,.. i tried)

thanks

Save it in a word document (along with any future codes) and don't worry about it.

Default It's exactly what I have for months...

Unfortunately CE light will be up soon (prediction). Dealer said its MAF sensor (damn ext. warr. doesn't cover it). So far I'm driving with CEL and hope that isn't CAT problem. I thought A8CT had the same codes.

I'm in to have the CAT replaced this week but I'm definitely getting different codes (I'll pull and post them)than the fuel trim. BUT, I might have gotten the "too lean" codes because dealer did replace my MAF sensor about a month ago. Unfortunately that was before I was able to pull the codes myself so I'm not sure.

Default Dealer wants $764.65, MAF itself $457, ...

I think it's easy to find it much cheaper p/n 077 133 471G
