Default %$#@! F clutch seal

Tranny's going, going, almost gone. Losing reverse on my '01 S8. Happened so quickly too, one day everything seems fine, the next it just sits there and revs for a few seconds before slowly slipping into gear. The cold weather doesn't help, I'm sure. Guess I should have gotten in on that extended warranty group buy.

Is it Gabor that's the tranny guru? Any chance of coming to Boston?

Dang...

83k, no tranny service that I'm aware of (2nd owner - I've put 10k on it myself).

Interesting. Is this the first report of a failed F seal on a post facelift car?

The F clutch seal is the strongest one in the tranny, but it takes the most beating

Default Don't think so

While I don't mind being a pioneer, this is not the time. Pretty sure I've read of others, and here's one from just a couple of days ago.

Clicky

Default I may not have an insurer to turn to for the $$$...

but anytime you want to try fabbin' a manny look me up, pk. Maybe I can pick out a loaner from your fleet while you do it - gee, I wonder which one I'd go for!
