Default '00 A8 Spark Plugs - Where can I get them last minute?

I'm supposed to be having my spark plugs swapped out tomorrow and I failed to realize that there could be a chance that NAPA wouldn't have them. And guess what? I called this morning, and NAPA can't get them. Not from their warehouse or distribution centers or anywhere. Sucks right? So here's the problem, where can I get spark plugs for my A8 without going to the stealership? Am I just going to have to order them online and wait for my spark plug swap? I'm located in MD by the way.

Why not wait? It's pretty easy to do yourself. Online prices are practically 50% off.

Default On-line < $4US. At dealer: $12US

I just changed mine last weekend. You can't let the +4s go too long, they are not as forgiving as regular plugs as far as exceeding their change interval.

Yeah, NAPA did this to me when I was trying to replace a rear caliper. Do you know where TNT Auto Parts are in Silver Spring? Near the Greyhound station? I've bought plugs from them before for my previous A8, so they might have them. Also, if you're a member of ACNA, you'd get a 10% discount at Rockville Porsche/Audi, and I'm sure they have 'em.

Default What interval did you observe?

I think mine might be due for a change here shortly. As you said, online is THE way to go...

The whole idea of the multi-ground plug is to extend the useful life, is it not?

Thanks!

Default 25-30k miles....

While the +4s have multi grounds, they also have much smaller anodes that may not be as durable as standard plugs. I think the anodes are where the wearout occurs - altho I'm no plugs expert. Changing mine got rid of a slight misfire (that wasn't setting codes) and responsiveness is quicker. Now I also went to my lighter winter wheels at the same time - so maybe it's all in my head ;-)

Default Knew They'd Have It!

Unlike NAPA, if TNT say they have it, it's there. But yes, they do keep odd hours. Out of curiosity, was their price decent?

yea, they were only $77.59 total including tax. pretty good price. thanks again for the referral. they went out of their way to find them for me as they were not in their computer inventory when they originally checked.
