First ever oil change for me as I believe and still do, that $5x.xx at the dealer is a good enough deal.
But this time I couldn't arrange to get there and had to do it meself. This I can handle.
Inevitably, oil changes are messy no matter how neat you try to be and you still have to store and drop off the old oil.
Followed the Audipages info (thank you very much (again) PW) for the details.. It's basically the same on the face lift cept you will need a 36mm socket which I obtained from der local Sears for $8.
Whilst under there I noticed again that der wife likes to pull too far over the parking lot bumpers, then back up and tear the lower bumper trim. Dang!
Sikaflex black is the silicone adhesive on steroids to fix this.. but no time today, so racing tape will have to do.
Alwaze good to have a DIY looksee under and around der motor and front end for leaks and any other road induced mayhem.

Hmm I could be wrong as I was wrong once before.. but usually I have a coupon for a $40 oil change and then they charge for the V8's extra oil.. That said; this is usually done with some other work, but it had been 59 bucks or sumthin.
Yikes $125 is surely a high price given that they can prolly do this in 15 minutes.
BTW I also installed the long stored Fumoto Valve

I know im probably going to take some flack for this but what do you guys think about one of the reputable oil change places?> i would never trust them to do anything major and i used to change my oil myself but its just such a pain to deal with the old oil and clean up and everything. I have had a yukon and a benz and i took them to a local 10 minute spot, its 55 bucks and ive never had a problem i mean they are unscrewing a drain plug and putting in new oil. I always watch what they are putting in to make sure its the right kind/amount. Theres nothing different on an s8 as far as an oil change is there?

...under the D2's nose and knew immediately that plug is flush for a REASON!
CLEARANCE!
I've seen a number of D2 pans scuffed up, from as you mentioned, wifey's parking "technique" (by feel).
Take a pic of it on there puhleese? For now, I've just increased my change interval from 5k to 7.5k to save the effort 8-) (Pollock math)...
