01 A8, 100K Kms. Recently started to hear a sound like water flowing in the AC. Stays on for a while after engine is off. Any body having the same? Any idea what it is?

You should hear some noise for a few minutes. It is the refrigerant equalizing through the expansion valve. You will also hear it in home A/C units. I assume your A/C is working OK?

Well, It's hard to say with any certainty, but could it be you have the blower on a lower setting since the weather has cooled off, allowing you to hear the noise more? That's assuming you are in the Northern Hemisphere.
It is strange to hear much noise when the A/C is running... maybe you can try to locate the source of the noise.

could it be that the coolent level is low, I thought i read once that the a/c lines run thru the heater core, maybe your getting some thermal convection
